LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens with 5x optical zoom
The 29mm wide-angle lens captures a wider area than a standard 35mm lens. Add the superior rendering performance of the Leica DC lens, 5x optical zoom power, and a Zoom Macro* function that lets you get within 0.03 ft (1cm) of your subject, and the FS25 is fully equipped to capture a wide variety of beautiful, expressive shots.
*In 3M (4:3) or below recording.
Large, easy-to-see Intelligent 3.0-inch LCD
The high-resolution, 230,000-dot LCD makes it easier to frame the shot before you shoot and check the results after you shoot. It also makes it more fun to view your photos with family and friends.
The brightness changes to match your surroundings
The LCD brightness automatically adjusts in nine steps to match the brightness of your surroundings. This ensures good viewability even outdoors on a sunny day, and improved viewing comfort when you're inside a dark room.
Easy-to-read display with large fonts
To prevent mistakes reading the remaining battery display and other settings, you can enlarge the fonts for easier viewing.

Camera has a lens retraction issue I bought this camera in April 10. It is not a good camera at all. Specially the picture is not sharp. The videos are a little blurred for a 12MP.
The most important thing is this camera has a defective lens track.
Most users ( google it ) suffer from this issue. The lens would not retract back into the camera after shooting or when you switch it on they won't come out.
All you a get is either a lens error or a system zoom error. It asks you to switch off the camera and turn it on again. I ignored this error for 2 months and kept switching on / off the camera considering I am a novice. But later one day , the lens got stuck. Amazon is great in customer service , they offered me a refund. But if you take them to panasonic , you are in for some major drill. They ask you to ship it too a warehouse in TX and it goes on from there.
Check issues with this camera on google and decide if you still need to buy it.
I might go for a nikon , sony or a canon.
DMC-FS25 I don't recommend buying this camera. If you are going to take photos of stationary objects, at close range outdoors, on a bright cloudless day, you will find the images very acceptable, using either the "IntelligentAuto" function or "Normal Photo" setting and 1-Area focusing. Daylight indoor photos are blurry and noisy using 11-area focusing, unless you force the built in flash. Stick to the 1-area focusing setting in "Normal Picture" mode for the best pictures both indoors and outside. The "AF Tracking" focus mode is way too slow, yielding blurry/noisy photos of moving objects indoors. The newer cameras have addressed this weakness with faster AF...now I know why! Many of these new compact cameras have too many un-necessary functions and settings, like 11-area focusing and face detection, which only tend to confuse the average user and ruin images, especially if one is pressed for time. The LCD and battery life are big pluses. I don't use the camera for video, so can't comment. By the way, both my ancient Panasonic DMC-FZ20 5MP and 8MP Canon A720IS take photos of superior quality to this 12MP camera. I will be retiring this camera to either my car glove compartment or the kitchen junk drawer.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-F525 I like this brand. It's thinner than my last one which was only a 6 mp. Easy to use.
Not a satisfied customer I've had my camera exactly a month. Nothing was wrong with it until the today when the zoom kept going out of focus and then a screen telling me to turn the camera off then back on. I did this and it finally said zoom error. It won't work at all now and the 30 days return was up on that day.
Camara was sold as NEW but box had been opened and NO manual I gave this camera 3 stars for the plain fact that the box had been opened and there was no manual in the box. When you pay for a new product is it too much to ask that you recieve an un-opened box. The camera itself is what I wanted, a simple point and shoot that takes decent pictures in most situations.
